The vines of Cape Point Vineyards are planted in both Noordhoek and in Scarborough. As the only wine estate in the world to be positioned on a narrow peninsula, the confluence of sea breezes from the cold Atlantic Ocean and the warmer waters of False Bay, create ideal conditions for the slow ripening of grapes required for the creation of premium wines.
Each terroir is unique, offering an excellent variety of soil and micro-climatic conditions, with the cultivars carefully matched to the conditions of each location. Cape Point Vineyards uses the versatility of its terroir to produce wines that offer the consumer a complete wine experience.
Along with the estate’s three distinct Sauvignon Blancs, Cape Point Vineyards also offers a single variety Semillon and a Chardonnay. These vines are planted on the South-West facing slopes of Noordhoek, caressed by moist ocean breezes.
The Cape Point Vineyards Scarborough is a sumptuous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. The warmer north-facing slopes on the Scarborough Estate were selected for their potential to produce premium red wines and this is where the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz vineyards are planted.
